Almost like a screen room, but yet a tent – get the best of both

I just got this and set it up, so my review isn’t from having used it long term. But I do know my tents, having been a camper for many many years and owned about every kind of tent there is (I’m a tent junkie).

This is one great tent. Big enough for two sleeping cots and room for gear. I just set it in about 10 min the first time, with the tie downs and extra stakes, total time about 20. minutes. Next time in less than 12 minutes. As the day continued the desert winds got stronger and stronger. I would guess wind burst up to 35 miles an hour. The tent had no problems handling it. Also, with the rain fly on it was warmer in the tent than outside. Like all Paha Que tents, this tent is really strong. I am 6 feet 4 inches tall, and really enjoy being able to walk into the tent rather than crawl into it. Looking forward to getting many years of good use from this tent.

Combines the best features of a tent and a screen room, sets up easily, did very well in a downpour everything stayed dry.
Returned it because, though the floor is 8×8 it wasn’t large enough at cot height to accommodate my REI comfort cots. Tent seemed well made, sturdy enough to stand up to dog in the tent. Easy to put up by one person with occasional assistance by someone in the vicinity. Though I’d prefer not to have the sleeves for poles, I noticed none of the bigger cabin style tents use just hooks.
Exceeded my expectations with a lot of use already.
Great tent. I’ve intentionally waited about three months so I could use it a lot before writing a review. I’ve had it up for several weeks at a time in a couple of different locations – including Yellowstone NP during some strong thunderstorms. It was a breeze to set up, simple and easy getting in and out, it ventilates well, is spacious, and has remained totally dry inside. Never had a Paha Que product before, but if the Green Mountain tent is typical of their stuff, I’d readily buy again. The one thing I’d add – and they print this in their directions and on the tent tag – is to be sure you use the provided guy-lines to keep the tent secure in wind or storms. Saw two similar style tents near me lift stakes and roll over in one bad thunderstorm.
I used the tent on camping trip and it was great. I would recammend this tent to any one who is looking for a great tent.
