Kelty Pawnee 55-Liter Backpack
Amazon Price: N/A (as of February 28, 2017 2:42 am –
The Pawnee lives for long weekends. Able to pack enough gear for multiple nights on the trail, the Pawnee supports heavy loads with a single Light Beam II aluminum stay and PE frame sheet. Top loading convenience combines with side-access, making gear easy to pack and find. Your important gear stays organized with the large front pocket and large pocket in the hood of the pack while the hip belt pocket keeps small items close at hand. The hydration compatible design will keep you hydrated and hiking longer. And on those long hikes, when weather turns bad, an integrated rain cover is always close at hand. The features of the pack are nice, but what will keep you smiling mile after mile is the suspension system. Utilizing a single Light Beam(tm) II aluminum stay that is stiff and light along with a PE frame sheet, it will keep the load centered and on your hips and off your shoulders. The dynamic Airflow back panel and Air Mesh on the shoulder straps, dual density foam waist belt, and lumbar pad will keep you cool when you are working hard. Finally, the load lifters/stabilizers, hip belt stabilizer straps, sternum straps, and Scherer Cinch(tm) waist buckle will help customize the fit and keep the load close to your center of gravity.. Body Fabric: 420D Polyester Ball Shadow. Reinforcement Fabric: 450D Polyester Oxford. Suspension: Light beam(tm) Fixed Suspension System.

I had a kelty lakota 85 ended up being wayyy too big for summer weekend camping (I still managed to fill it up the first time I went though!). This is basically the smaller version of that pack.
Great pack at 50L at price point, but…price to value to size/weight/features
PROs: its a well made organized similarly weighed pack good for 2-3 days easily 4 if youre creative.
Good price, good capacity, just needs a few more compression straps
I have only hiked a limited amount with it (about 25 miles) and so far it seems quite comfortable. In a month I will know a lot more about it (end of April 2014) after I finish the Camino de Santiago. It is light enough and fits my six foot frame quite nicely. It has good capacity and a fair number of whistles and bells…but it could stand a few more. First, unlike smaller North Face packs, it does not have two compression straps beneath the pack which would be nice for carrying a sleeping pad or tent, even a sleeping bag in its own waterproof sack. Second, it would be nice if the zippered opening to the main compartment zipped from both the right and left sides though this is not really that critical. As far as overall quality of construction the fabric and zips seem fine. However, when I cinched up the breast strap it popped off its fabric piping/runner. It was easy to put back but the lesson learned is not to cinch it too tightly as it doesn’t need to be piano-wire tight across your chest. It just needs to be secure to keep the shoulder straps from moving around. Lastly – and this goes for all packs no mater what brand – don’t believe them when the manufacturer says the side mesh pockets are easily reachable so you can grab your water bottle while marching along. Unless you are a contortionist, that pocket is fingertips out of reach. In conclusion, it is comfortable, pretty convenient, moderately light-weight and a good price. Pack light and get a hydration bladder for which this pack is compatible.
Very Good Pack
Kelty continues to make some of the best camping gear around, this pack is no different. Great for an overnight, maybe even 2-3 nights, depending on how you pack and the season.
perfect for a weekend or a week. anything longer is pushing it.
