I finally found my tent!

I’ve purchased 3 tents in the past few years and the Glacier 4 is the one that excites me the most. I have a Eureka Grand Manan 6P and a Kelty 4P. I liked the size of the Eureka and the ease of pitching the Kelty.

I purchased this tent to use for three (3) weeks in the Colorado Rockies while Elk hunting last October and if you want a tent that will hold up to the riggers of high winds, snow, rain and anything else Mother Nature can throw at you, then do not look any further, get this tent and be happy. I did make sure that I used guy-lines and had the tent securely held down with longer tent stacks and I was comfortable my entire trip. What is really a nice feature in this tent is the fact you can actually stand up in it and not have to be bend over in trying to get dressed, plus it has plenty of room with straight-walled sides.

While I didn’t order this tent from Amazon, I wanted to leave a review here because this is where I personally go to do research on items before I purchase them.

Great all around tent with a lot of air flow even with fly on. All vents and windows close with zippers this is great. Strong tub floor and very easy to set up. A little heavy to back pack with but great for base camp tent or to hike in and stay in one spot for a time. It is will worth the extra room
Easy to set up and handles a strong wind great

I purchased this tent to use on a Scout campout Jan. 16, 2014. The temperature was in the upper 30’s to lower 40’s however, the wind had to be at least 40 mph. I used a tie-down on each side of the tent and feel that the tent stood up to the wind great. The next morning I found where the wind had caused a number of stakes to pull out of the ground just to give you an idea of the wind.

Camped two nights in this tent recently. It’s a comfortable size for two people on cots with plenty of room for gear. Held up pretty well against some strong Oklahoma winds. Conditions were dry so can’t speak to rain resistance which I am hoping for good results. The tent arrived with a couple of peices of Velcro missing where they should have been sewn. I’ll have to live without it or put it on myself.
Great Tent – heavy and bulky to carry but by far my favorite tent..

This tent is HEAVY. That’s not a bad thing, I’m just saying know what you are getting when you order this. I ordered this tent specifically to use in heavy rain and winter. Even so, I was quite surprised at how big it is in the bag. What makes it so big and heavy are the poles. Although they are aluminum, they are about 3/4″ diameter. Some of them are angled and that makes them pretty big in the bag. There is no way this is ever going camping with me where I have to take this more than 100 yards away from my car. That being said, it is my go to tent. Sets up just as fast and easy as my smaller tents so why not be able to stand up in the tent? Opens wide up for the summer and zips up tight for the winter.
Bought what my daughter has, love it

My daughter has this tent. Decided to go with this brand after being a Coleman devotee for years. Coleman’s products are very often not

Not much visibility, but it is a strong 4 season tent. The main concern that I have is the roof of the tent (not the rainfly) is uneven. there is sagging in between contact points where the hooks are sewn in and then a lot of tension where the hooks are sewn in, and i won’t be surprised if they fail soon. They’ve lasted long enough for the warranty to expire, but i’m skeptical about the long run. The zippers are very high quality, but it takes a long time to zip in and out of the tent. Otherwise it’s strong tent and very easy to set up.

The tent is as advertized and can be set up by one person. I have yet to use it the bad weather of late fall / early winter camping so I cannot comment on how it performs in rain and snow conditions. I definitely recommend a foot print and longer stakes which I purchased separately. It is comfortable for two adults, cots and gear.
