I finally found my tent!

I’ve purchased 3 tents in the past few years and the Glacier 4 is the one that excites me the most. I have a Eureka Grand Manan 6P and a Kelty 4P. I liked the size of the Eureka and the ease of pitching the Kelty.
Great Tent – heavy and bulky to carry but by far my favorite tent..

This tent is HEAVY. That’s not a bad thing, I’m just saying know what you are getting when you order this. I ordered this tent specifically to use in heavy rain and winter. Even so, I was quite surprised at how big it is in the bag. What makes it so big and heavy are the poles. Although they are aluminum, they are about 3/4″ diameter. Some of them are angled and that makes them pretty big in the bag. There is no way this is ever going camping with me where I have to take this more than 100 yards away from my car. That being said, it is my go to tent. Sets up just as fast and easy as my smaller tents so why not be able to stand up in the tent? Opens wide up for the summer and zips up tight for the winter.
Easy to set up and handles a strong wind great

I purchased this tent to use on a Scout campout Jan. 16, 2014. The temperature was in the upper 30’s to lower 40’s however, the wind had to be at least 40 mph. I used a tie-down on each side of the tent and feel that the tent stood up to the wind great. The next morning I found where the wind had caused a number of stakes to pull out of the ground just to give you an idea of the wind.

I purchased this tent to use for three (3) weeks in the Colorado Rockies while Elk hunting last October and if you want a tent that will hold up to the riggers of high winds, snow, rain and anything else Mother Nature can throw at you, then do not look any further, get this tent and be happy. I did make sure that I used guy-lines and had the tent securely held down with longer tent stacks and I was comfortable my entire trip. What is really a nice feature in this tent is the fact you can actually stand up in it and not have to be bend over in trying to get dressed, plus it has plenty of room with straight-walled sides.

I really liked this tent and have set it up to make sure everything works. Before I set it up I was first puzzled at the tent pole segments and configuration. The instructions that was inside the tent bag that describe the tent poles didn’t match what I received. In the tent bag was a card to call Alps Brands if you had any issue with the product. I did email them with pictures and received an immediate response. They sent me a second set of tent poles but they were exactly the same ones. It was determine that the tent pole instructions inside the tent bag that showed the tent pole segments was not updated. Once I set it up everything was okay. Kudos to Alps Mountaineering for their excellent customer service (Brittany and Rodney) in resolving this matter for me. After setting up this tent it has plenty of room for two cots. Especially being able to setup the cots next to the wall without losing any space. Looking forward to camping this year.
Excellent tent if you like to be dry

the best designed tent

I have used this tent on two occasions and have been in heavy rain and wind. The tent stayed put and dry. I have owned ,at least, eight tents over the years and this tent is,by far, the best designed tent. From the venting to the fly, Browning has thought of everything! It sets up in about 10-15 minutes with the two pole system. When I first set it up,it didn’t look right but I soon discovered one pole set had an extra link. (Better then being one short). I would recommend this tent.

While I didn’t order this tent from Amazon, I wanted to leave a review here because this is where I personally go to do research on items before I purchase them.
